Megan M. Wood, MD

After graduating summa cum laude from The University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Black attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, an honor given to those graduating in the top 10% of their class. Her post-graduate training includes an Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Hospital in Dallas, TX.
Dr. Black completed a Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery Fellowship at The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, NY, where she trained directly under many of the world’s top experts in orthopedic sports medicine and hip, shoulder, and knee arthroscopy and reconstruction. During her fellowship, she was an assistant team physician for the New York Knicks and Iona College.
Throughout her clinical training, Dr. Black has been involved in research in the field of orthopedics. Daniel Cooper, MD

He treats all types of athletes; professionals, collegiate, high school and recreational. He is currently the head team physician for the Dallas Cowboys Football Team and formerly for the Dallas Stars Hockey Team (1993-2011). He has served as a team physician in professional sports for over 30 combined seasons.
Dr. Cooper’s practice primarily focuses on minimally invasive arthroscopic and reconstructive surgical techniques for the knee and shoulder that restore stability and joint function in young athletic individuals. Dr. Cooper is an internationally known expert in the treatment of complex knee ligament injuries involving injury to the anterior cruciate, posterior cruciate and collateral ligaments, and his practice serves as a referral center for difficult and revision cases. Andrew Dold, MD

He has been in practice in the Dallas, Texas area since 2016 and is the director of sports medicine at Star Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. Dr. Dold is widely considered an expert in biologic treatments including platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and stem cell therapies for the management of cartilage and other musculoskeletal sports-related injuries.
Dr. Dold completed his medical school at Trinity College, University of Dublin in Ireland. He then completed his orthopedic surgery residency training at the University of Toronto in Canada. After residency, Dr. Dold completed a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine and arthroscopy at New York University’s Langone Medical Center and the Hospital for Joint Diseases. Dr. Ghattas completed his medical school at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He then completed his orthopedic surgery training in Tennessee at the Wellmont/Lincoln Memorial University Orthopedic Residency Program. During his residency he trained at multiple nationally recognized institutions including: Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, the Hughston Clinic, and the University of South Florida. After residency, Dr. Ghattas completed a subspecialty fellowship at the prestigious WB Memorial Carrell Clinic here in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Ghattas has published numerous book chapters and scientific papers in peer‐reviewed journals including The American Journal of Orthopedics (AJO), Reconstructive Review, and Orthopedic Journal of Sports Medicine (OJSM). Alexander Glogau, MD

Dr. Glogau is a graduate of Downstate Medical Center/State University of New York at Brooklyn and holds additional degrees from John Hopkins University and City University.
He completed his surgical residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, where he also served as chief resident in the final year of the program. Dr. Glogau is a board-certified and fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine and the arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the knee and shoulder with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine. Dr. Glogau has been the co-director of the Plano/Associated Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship since 1990. In addition, he has chaired the Department of Orthopedics at Presbyterian Hospital of Plano as well as Medical Center of Plano.
He presently serves as an adjunct assistant professor of the Department of Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and on the Executive Board. Dr. Haslam serves as Department Chair for Orthopedics and Neurosurgery at Centennial Medical Center in Frisco, Texas. John Heinrich, MD

After graduating from Southern Methodist University, Dr. Heinrich attended medical school at the Indiana University School of Medicine where he was awarded the Raymond Nicholson Scholarship for academic excellence. His post-graduate training includes a Surgical Internship and an Orthopedic Residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Heinrich completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Methodist Sports Medicine/Indiana University in Indianapolis. During his fellowship, he was team physician for Indiana State University and a member of the Indianapolis Colts medical staff. In addition, he also served as a consultant for the NFL combine for the 2009 NFL draft. His research interests include cartilage injuries of the knee and imaging modalities for evaluating ligamentous injuries of the wrist. He limits his practice to hip replacements, total knee replacements and partial knee replacements. Dr. Montgomery has been in the community for 20 years and has performed a large volume of hip and knee replacements. He believes in treating the patient as a whole and bases his practice on a personal relationship with his patient throughout the surgical process. You will routinely see him at office visits and on rounds in the hospital.
Dr. Montgomery believes that treating arthritis is a planned process and he will spend time talking with you, discussing what plan meets your needs and expectations. Dr. Montgomery will discuss if you are a candidate for a partial or total knee replacement. He also offers hip surgery using the anterior supine approach.
Dr. Montgomery grew up in Caldwell ,TX. He is married and has two sons. He enjoys raising cattle and working on the land.
Mark Muller, MD

Mark Muller, MD, joined the Carrell Clinic™ in 2008 as a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with expertise in sports related injuries of the knee, hip, and shoulder.
He serves as a team physician for the Dallas Cowboys. He has previously served as the head team physician for the Dallas Stars.
As the son of an Air Force pilot and physician, Dr. Muller grew up in a number of diverse places from Alaska to Texas. His family finally settled in Austin, Texas where he attended high school and they remain in the Texas hill country today. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Wake Forest University in North Carolina and returned home to Texas for medical training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He remained in Dallas for a general surgery internship at Parkland Hospital prior to entering active duty in the Air Force as a flight surgeon. Dr. Muller served in the USAF Special Operations Command and was stationed at Hurlburt Field Air Force Base in Florida. During his time with this unit, Dr. Muller commanded the medical operations on multiple clandestine deployments, including trips to the Middle East, South America, and Korea. He supported one of the country’s most elite combat search and rescue squadrons and served as the unit’s leader in the medical response to chemical and biologic weapons.
Dr. Muller returned to Dallas for orthopedic surgery residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He received multiple distinctions for his academic and clinical performance during his orthopedic surgical training. After completing his residency, he returned to the Air Force and was stationed at Travis Air Force Base in California. He served two years as a military orthopedic surgeon in California. His assignment included a 5 month deployment to provide medical support for Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom in Qatar and Kuwait.
After resigning his commission from the military, Dr. Muller was selected for the prestigious Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery Fellowship at Cornell University’s Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. During his fellowship, Hospital for Special Surgery was selected by US News and World Report as the premiere orthopedic institution in the country. Dr. Muller trained with world-renowned experts in sports medicine and gained expertise in the latest techniques in knee, hip, shoulder, elbow, and ankle arthroscopy. His responsibilities included orthopedic coverage for the New York Giants during the Super Bowl Championship 2007-2008 season. He provided sideline coverage the entire season, including the NFC Championship Game at Lambeau Field and Super Bowl XLII in Arizona. Dr. Muller’s research included knee ligament biomechanical studies and clinical evaluation of lower extremity tendon injuries. He has published in multiple journals and presented at many local and national meetings, including the annual NFL Team Physician Society Meeting and the annual NHL Team Physician Society Meeting.
Dr. Muller is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and subspecialty certified in sports medicine by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He is an active member of many professional organizations including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Texas Medical Association. In addition, he serves as an associate master instructor in hip arthroscopy for the Arthroscopy Association of North America.

Richard D. Rhodes, Jr., MD

Richard Rhodes, MD specializes in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, knee and hip. Dr. Rhodes is board certified in Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine.
Dr. Rhodes attended UT Southwestern Medical School and completed his residency at the Fort Wayne Medical Education Program in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Upon completing his residency, Dr. Rhodes served in the military as Chief of Orthopedics for the Sixth Air Mobility Wing and U.S. Special Operations Command. He trained with two of the country’s top shoulder surgeons and provided advanced treatment for Green Berets, Navy Seals, Marine Force Recon and Air Force Special Operations. He also served as team physician for the Special Operations Parachute Demonstration Team.
Dr. Rhodes has served as team physician for multiple professional and amateur sports in DFW. Dr. Rhodes has cared for athletes from the WNBA, Texas Revolution, Dallas Jr Stars, WTA tennis, MMA, Professional Crossfit, and countless high school, college and amateur athletes.
Having attended undergrad at Texas A&M University, he loves cheering on the Aggies with his wife and two young children. He’s also a fan of Texas high school sports, the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys. In his spare time, Dr. Rhodes enjoys volunteering with youth, golfing and target shooting.
Daniel Worrel, MD

A native Texan, Daniel A. Worrel, MD, joined the Carrell Clinic™ in 2005.
Dr. Worrel completed his undergraduate studies at Southern Methodist University on academic scholarship where he played on the varsity soccer team until sidelined by his own orthopedic injuries. He graduated with Honors in the Liberal Arts with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. Dr. Worrel is the head team physician for the Dallas Mavericks Basketball team and the assistant team physician for Southern Methodist University.
Dr. Worrel graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, where he was also an Iatros award finalist his senior year. Dr. Worrel completed his internship in General Surgery at University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida. Dr. Worrel completed his residency at the University of Florida where he participated in the care of the Florida Gators. He served as Academic and Chief Resident in Orthopedics and Rehabilitation. Dr. Worrel completed a traveling fellowship in elbow surgery with the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota with Dr. Bernard Morrey, world-renowned expert in elbow surgery, as well as a traveling fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery/sports medicine with the Kerlan-Jobe Clinic and the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California.
Dr. Worrel’s interests include disorders of the elbow, shoulder, and knee. He performs arthroscopic surgery, reconstructive (ligament reconstruction and instability) surgery, as well as arthroplasty (joint replacement). He treats sports injuries and fractures of the upper extremity. In addition to treating the athletes of the Dallas Mavericks and SMU, Dr. Worrel treats athletes at all levels. He has provided coverage for The Byron Nelson Classic since 2006, The Cotton Bowl, as well as professional rodeo, baseball, and hockey.
Dr. Worrel has a special interest in treating disorders of the elbow. He performs minimally invasive repairs of biceps ruptures as well as arthroscopic treatment of degenerative, stiff, or traumatized elbows. He also performs ligament reconstruction of the shoulder, elbow, and knee. Dr. Worrel believes very strongly in the importance of an open and honest patient-physician relationship and feels knowledgeable patients make the best decisions about their own treatment. Dr. Worrel feels it is his responsibility to make sure patients are well informed about their conditions and the multiple choices of treatment.
Dr. Worrel has medical staff privileges at North Central Surgical Center, Baylor University Medical Center, and Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas.
Dr. Worrel is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Arthroscopy Association of North America, member of the American Medical Association, as well as member of both the Texas Medical Association and Dallas County Medical Society. Dr. Worrel is married with two daughters and enjoys golf, hunting, and his two Labrador retrievers.
Khalid Yousuf, MD

Khalid Yousuf, MD, MS joins us from his busy practice in Chicago, IL. He is a native of Texas and has moved back to be with his family.
Dr. Yousuf’s practice focuses on hip and knee replacements. He utilizes surgical and technological advancements to offer his patients relief from joint pain, including partial knee replacements and anterior hip approach. He received advanced training in joint replacement surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Dr. Yousuf attended medical school at Louisiana State University in New Orleans and completed his orthopedic residency at the University of Oklahoma. He is board certified and recently achieved the distinction of being a Certified Physician Executive, by the American Association of Physician Leaders. In 2016, he was presented the Healing Hands award by the Little Company of Mary Hospital in Chicago, IL.
Dr. Yousuf is actively involved in teaching residents and medical students and has participated as an instructor for the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery Residents course in Arthroplasty. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and certified to perform Robotic joint replacements.
Dr. Yousuf enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters. They love cooking, traveling and swimming together. He is an avid car enthusiast. In his younger years, he used to quarter mile race his Camaro Z28 and Trans Am. He now rarely goes over the speed limit!
